Media Worth Mentioning II: FEB 20-26
Media Worth Mentioning!Every week, the incredibly busy staff here at Fajitamonday will bring you the important [read: important to us] releases in movies, dvds, music, and video games as we see fit. This is where the complete biast of our writers shines through. Please note that all the distributors lost our address and we have no advance copies of anything. We are also poor.
Video Games
50 Cent: Blood in the Sand (Xbox360/PS3)
RP: I think 50 Cent had this game made so that he wouldn’t actually do this in real life. Either that, or he ALREADY did everything in the game and its just based on those events.
MtK: It really blows my mind that this is the second 50 Cent game, being the follow up to 50 Cent: Bullet Proof, which received no love. Really, I’d expect this game to show up in the 50ยข bin at Wal-Mart within the year, though, I think they hate rap music.
MLB Front Office Manager (PC)
RP: yup. the title just screams excitement. I wonder if you have to schedule the steriod regiments for all the players.
MtK: I don’t think you understand exactly how hard that is! You need to search the internet, find a semi-reputable Mexican doctor, and then arrange shipment. Shipment alone means forging customs forms to say you’re taking delivery of 837 pairs of socks.
Movies
Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience
RP: Disney read’s my mind once again.
MtK: I wonder how much the movie costs, compared you, you know—actually going to the concert.
Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li
RP: This is a no brainer. Movie based games always do so well in theaters and get so much critical acclaim.
MtK: I would actually argue that CollegeHumor did a better job with their “Street Fighter: The Later Years” series than this movie will be.
DVD
Pirates II: Stagnetti’s Revenge
RP: Two things worth noting here! I found this release information on IMDB. Also, It has an 8.4 rating with 300 people having seen it. If you dont already know what pirates is… then I just don’t know what to tell you.
MtK: You mean you didn’t see Pirates: The Curse of Stagnetti? Amateur.
Compact discs/Cassettes
Beirut / Realpeople: March of the Zapotec / Holland
RP: On repeat in my cd player (?) and in my car, on my computer, 8 track, mini-disc, ipod, zune, reel to reel, turntable, etc.
MtK: I guess I’m unfamiliar with this, proving again how much I reject popular culture. Can you burn me a copy?
Atmosphere: God Loves Ugly [reissue]
RP: I only included this so I could note that I think it is rediculous to reissue an album 7 years after it originally was released.
MtK: I don’t know what you’re talking about. In fact, I do believe the very first Three Guys and a Broken Guitar album is coming up on its 7 year anniversary. Time to re-hash this one!
