Daily Sizzle: Top 5 reasons to see Explosions in the Sky
The newest and first feature of Fajitamonday is the Daily Sizzle. (Do
NOT count on seeing one everyday) The Daily Sizzle is where us here at FM, rant, rave, hate, and date pretty much anything we want.
Sorry for the lack of updates this week. My dog died, then I fell into a well full of snakes and spent two days fighting my way out with the sharpened crutch of the 6 year old that fell down the well with me. But my perils aside, lets get down to some business.
Explosions in the Sky annouce 10th Anniversary 3 date “tour”
I love Explosions in the Sky. The twanging guitar droning me to sleep on restless nights, thundering drums making my walks to the grocery store that much more intense. When I die, I want the opening of “A Song for our Fathers” to be playing while my body is carried into the gravesite (which would be overlooking a huge cliff with lots of wind and threatening waves. Then I’m lowered into the ground right as the music picks up and goes all crazy in that explosioney way.
In other words, I think you should see this show if you have a chance. And here are a couple more reasons why!
1) The last time I saw them they were on a huge national tour that they were saying would be their last tour for a good 3 to 5 years. The opener was this guy.
So seeing as they probably won’t have much of an opener since these are anniversary shows or whatever, that bouds well for taking the opportunity to check them out.
2) They draw audiences from hipster kids, metal kids, and college frat boys who watched Friday Night Lights. It’s like a melting pot of 18-24 year olds! It really doesn’t get much better. If you get bored (which you wont), you can try and start fights among the different groups of people. For instance, go to the metal kids and say; “See that kid with the polo that has an eagle on it. He said that Mastodon sucks and should probably open for Slipknot.” It’s comedic gold.
3) They will change your life.
